I was wondering how much performance is gained from a stock helix to a performance lightweight helix like HSP. I am thinking about getting one to put in my tblazer 250-below-and don't want to spend the money to get one if it isn't a good or great deal of help. If so which angle would fit my quad best.

 

If you want to mess with the secondary go with a type of roller clutch.The TEAM doesnt seem to work good on 250s but the Aaen conversion does and they would steer you in the right direction on spring and helix angles.

 

Hey Brad would that 44-40 split helix work for him?? If so I'll let it go CHEAP.

 

I really dout if a 250 would have the power to use that one.

 

HPD 44-40 helix with a .020 shim behind the snap ring,violet hpd secondary spring.

 

how about a 44-40 helix on a piped 400 scrambler? no porting at this time.

 

That would be good on a 400 but the 250s dont have the torque to pull that heavy of a spring or that steep of an angle of helix.Actually if he was to put in a gold polaris secondary spring he would find the improvment is good.

 

I was also thinking about the gold secondary. What about a 45-33 or 45-35 angled helix. But i have to know, will it benefit my quad noticeably.

 

Try the spring then think about a helix.I hane never had much luck with split helixs other than the roller secondarys.

 

We run our 45/40 helix in our piped cluthc kits on the 250's keep in mind that is with our pipe and different weigths, different sec. spring , adn a different primary spring.
