Check out post "Green Spring", "Green Spring installation", "325 riders want instant torque", "white spring on the boss now", "Xplorer Xperiment pt 1" & "best 25 bucks I ever spent". These posts should tell you all you want to know about changing clutch springs. Some go as far back as the 12th or 13th, so check the archives. Good luck & good riding.

A clutch kit will do more than just changing the spring. However, changing the spring will do about 75% as much, at a cost of under $30. If you get one through your dealer & don't have to pay shipping, it will be more like $20. If you want/need max performance a kit will do better. However, if you want a very cheap mod that works, try the spring. The springs are easy to change, too. A clutch kit may require special tools to disassemble/assemble depending on what parts you need to swap out. Rick at Ritter Cycle at 618-644-3211 answered all the questions for me when I ordered my springs.
If it was me, I would try the spring change. Just too cheap not to try.

BUT the FIRST thing you should do is go to your dealer, tell him it's running "doggy", that you ride in the mountains and you want "High altitude" weights for the clutch. He should do this for FREE. If you still want more, get a white spring, but start with the weights.

Congratulations on your New T-Boss. I just got mine on Tuesday. I love it. We took it out this weekend to Wayne National Forrest, had a great time. Then today we rode at Praire Creek near Muncie IN. And yes, it does go through mud. Have you had a chance to break yours in? What do you thing about it?

Broke the trailboss in all week long just for this past weekend. We had a big 4x4 party in the area and this thing didn't miss a beat (nothing but mud) only buried it once and it was my fault slipped in a rutt. its not the quickest thing out there but that didn't matter when your pulling 2 strokes out of the mud (hehe) only thing now is i have to clean it
