Viper winches
#2
I have a venom on the back of my sp 500 I think it is about the same as the viper...anyway It is alright for the money but a 2500lb venom is nothing even compared to the 2.5 from Warn. If it is your primary or only winch I would say spend more and get the warn or ramsey.

Can you be more specific as to what broke on the Viper winch? Was it the gears/motor/switch/solenoid? Was it still within the warranty period when it stopped working? Did your friend contact MotoAlliance for repair/replacement? If so, how was thier customer service?
Thanks

I'm not for sure what broke but it was inside of the winch because he had to take it apart. It broke the first time he used it and it was still under warrenty. I don't know if he contacted them about it or not.

i baught a winch from Tractor Supply Co. used to be central tractor it was an atv winch 3000 pound i forgot the make but it was a cheap winch 99.99 the first one i had the cable got jammed in the spool part and wouldnt release the 2nd i had broke and the 3rd i had, my buddy was stuck in 8 inches of mud and i was about 8 feet away on dry ground and when the cable got tight it wouldnt pull him any further, the motor made a dying noise and wouldnt move anymore. I took it back and baught a warn 2500 pound winch, we tried it again and it pulled him out without a prob, id deff say warn there pricy but well worth it, i have pulled a chevy 2-10 out of the same mud with it.
