Default My frist day back and the hinson clutch blew again

Well as some of you know i have been out from riding because of a broken wrist surgery.Yesterday was my frist day back riding. Well it wasn't good!!I got less then 30 minutes riding on my predator and my hinson clutch basket blew again. the frist one lasted 2 hours then it blew, that was 8 weeks ago. when it happend the frist time ,i went out riding on my scrammy the next day and i broke my wrist.Since then hinson give my sponser/dealer a new basket and warrenty covered the other things that went wrong. Yesterday I had enough sitting around,so, i went out for a ride On my predator.I got less then 5 miles from where i park and all of the sudden,my shifting got screwed up. the shifter spring broke and there was a lose of power. The same thing happend last time!!The shifter was the give away because after the sprag plat on the back of the clutch basket breaks the spring go everwhere and get caught under the shifter,so when i down shifted it broke the shifter or shifter spring,,but either way,, the basket is trashed.

Well, i don't play the three strike rule when it comes to my atv's ,so , i will be putting a stock set up back in,or I'll do it myself this time. That way i know it will be right.

This is a big bummer, because, the predator still hasn't reached it full power with this new engine i have now. I was still tunning it and the last thing I thought I would have to mess with was the clutch.

I just cann't find any luck!! what do you guys think?
By the way , my wrist wouldn't have held me back,it felt good!! Thanks Doctor Katt!
Thanks
matt

yes i know but a hinson clutch shouldn't fall apart after 30 minutes. Some heads are going to roll when i see the dealer in the morning.I may just lose my mind if they cann't fix it by next weekend. If they cann't, I will, and I may anway, because after talking to Daryl Rath I think someone is doing something wrong.

Matt last post you made about your sh!tty day of riding I suggested basketweaving...fly fishing..or even cross stitching as an alternative "hobby"...may want to look into that again!!

maybe i will give rick a gingle, I want to make sure that is what has happend frist. I'm not sure if the same thing happend ,but some things are the same. i could be that just the shift spring broke but, i don't think so! Pretty sure the basket went again.
The messed up thing is ,Is that each time the Predator made it home on it's own. Last time tho, it was harder to shift into any gear, this time I just had a real hard time getting into frist, the up shifting was not great but i was able to get 2nd,3rd,4th,and 5th.It was notchy and seemed to have less power, So it must be the clutch again.

Even If these toys keep screwwing me,I will never stop riding. I'm a die hard!! most of you all know this to be true because of my posts.I'm a motor head by trade and by play and that is what I allways will be!

one more thing to top off the day, my friend took my scrammy 400 out and it is leaking fuel so bad now, that it has fille d the engine and is leaking out the exhust pipe fitting(dounut gasket flange) The wierd thing is the fuel pecock is off. I know it works to because if I turn the fuel on it pisses out the vent tube. I'm ready to smash this pwk 39mm keihin piece of junk. It's time for a new carb for the scrammy.

U know what im gonna laugh at you when your tranny goes out on your underpowered 3.5 wheel drive so called irs pos quad

Now i have to say i had 2 buds of mine i would always ride with they both had hondas... why did they switch to polaris, because they were sick of getting stuck and being blown away and yes believe it or not they had bearing problems and were in the shop more then my polaris... its too bad that im not brand loyal either, i would have boughten a honda if they had 14 inches of ground clearence, try 4x4, nice suspension, a soft seat, good engine power.
