Default 03 predator-just bought

Hi guys. I am pretty new to this forum and just bought a 03 predator to add to my collection. I have a issue with the ball joints, and I know from reading post that this is a comman issue. My question is if anyone has the part number for the ball joints that Dennis Kirk offers for the predator 500. I can say this about the predator- THIS THING RIPS pretty good- It is supposed to have a 12.5-1 piston, head mod with 1mm bigger valves and heavier valve springs, and bigger cams, and a pure sport pipe. Igot it for $2850.00, is this a fair price? It is in above average condition for the year. If anyone can help me with the part numbers I would appreciate it. I did look, just so ya know, but did not see them, maybe I wasn't looking in the right place LOL. Thanks, RUSS Oh buy the way I noticed when I was looking at it and riding it that it has a slight rattle about like a light nock to it, is this normal. The guy I bought it from said it has pretty much always sounded like that??????? It seems to go away with just a little throttle. I am not sure if he had race fuel in it or not, but it didn't smell like it did, and it ran great. Your imput will be appreciated.

So you think the rattle is the starter gear? It doesn't make any noise when cranking, just after it is running. It sounds like a knocking consistant with engine rpm??????? I am assuming that he had at the most 93 octane fuel in it because I know what race fuel smells like, and I hope he didn't run a whole lot of cheap gas in it. I will be running 110 race fuel in it. I finally got to ride my ds650 baja today for the first time since I've owned it "2 months". I have been waiting on wheels for it. WOW is that ds bad to the bone and it is bone stock. Anyways what is the next thought on the noise? Thanks, RUSS

Not sure what the cause is, but it is common with the preds. Mine has rattled since day one. If you check out predatorowners.com, there are MANY people that have the same knock. If it's the "standard" knock, its nothing to worry about.
