Inner hub seal alternates? and rear bearings
#1
Hey everyone, I need some help with my hub seals. I recently had to replace my rear wheel bearings and was able to find an very nice alternative to the OEM bearings for a fraction of the cost. My question is...does anyone know of an automotive type seal I could use in place of the OEM inner hub seals. I have a 2002 Sportsman 400 with less than 1500 miles on it and the left front inner seal started leaking towards the end of the first year of owning it. I'm hoping that someone knows what the CR number for those OEM seals would be so I can go to the local bearing and seal specialty shop where I picked up the bearings. For everyone that needs a little helping info on the seal sleeve topic...it's that metal surface the inner seal rides on...it covers the AWD coil and is made of stainless steel. Strangely it does wear a groove and if worn heavily enough will not let the seal tighten down to that spot on the sleeve allowing the fluid past. They're not cheap and you have to be extremely precise when installing them or you could write off the coil, then you're into major bucks. As for the rear bearings...my findings were that Pollaris uses the same outer wheel bearings as found in a 1990 Mercury Topaz. The bearing number is an FW143. Thanks for any help...the sooner I can get it the better too hehe.

Thanks dude but I already tried that and they couldn't match it up. I did however find an alternative from a local aftermarket parts dealer. A company called All ***** Bearings and Seals makes them and dirt cheap too. The part number for them is 131-3201. They cost me 7 bucks each. Thanks for the suggestion though.
