Default tieing down the bike

Can I use my wench cable to tie the front end of my sp-500 to the front of my car hauler trailer?
If I pull it down to far can I damage the front struts on the ATV?
I typicaly use two tie down straps in the back.

Thanks

i am not sure on that dude, i would just go and use ratchet straps, you cant go wrong with them. Go to walmart and you can get like a 4 pack for like $20 or less. You cant go wrong.

i use straps all around. ive heard people using the winch but i dont like too, i think does pull down too much on front end. maybe good for a safety in case the straps fail.

I was hoping I didn't pull the front down to far when I loaded it last nite.

Is there an easy test for damaged struts?

The rubber stops were almost topped out when I looked at it today

Its new, Im still like a new papa

thanks

I use straps....but I do use my winch as a "emergency" backup. I dont cinch it down so much that it pulls the front end down that much though.

I tie mine down on the frame. Use 4 straps crossing front to back. Never had a problem yet. I do buy new straps every year (have lots of spares now). I figure 20 bucks every year is worth the extra insurance knowing my straps aren't worn out and barely hanging on.

I bought four 8ft ratchet straps at walmart for $15.

I wouldnt risk damaging a bike that cost thousands or a winch that costs hundreds over $15 tie downs.

I'm like Okiedude. I strap the quad down as if I wasn't using the winch (one strap in each corner b/c I'm **** about it) then I attach the winch as a backup. The winch is only tight enough to take the slack out of the cable not enough to pull the quad down or loosen the straps.
