In the November atv sport has an interview in it with the COO of Polaris. Here is an excerpt:

Magazine: Would you consider dropping a KTM powertrain into the Predator?
Morgan (COO): Yes, there could be a possible application with the Predator.

I didnt know that rath has been running a ktm 525 in a pred for TT/flattrack, apparently its gone well. I imagine that this is one of the things Polaris had in mind before they even purchased the first share of KTM, its just a matter of time IMO.

yeah im sure it will happen eventually but imo they should try to compete with the other 450's rather than build an off the wall size like a 525.

I've heard rumors of a 525 motor but I guess time will tell.

with a 525 i guess it would take some sales from potential raptor 700 buyers.

if they dropped that 525 motor in the pred, it would be undoubtebly the best and fastest sport quad, just with that suspention mated to such a powerfull and LIGHT motor

KTM has a very potent smooth running 450 they use in bikes as well. I think that, not the 525, will find its way into the pred chassis. Everyone was expecting a 450 for 06, with this deal in the works, maybe thats why we didnt see one. Yet.

From what I here that power plant puts out 50hp to the ground in stock form. With a little mods that would be a fast quad hands down and time to trade in the 03 Predator......

ktm have both very good engines so far,2 stroke and 4 stroke, look
for a new very aggressive predator into the future using ktm powerplant
as well...hé,don't forget their 380 2 stroke engine they use in their bike, that might be an interesting scrambler swap motor thing to do maybe...later

OK HERE'S THE THING::: the limit in GNCC from what i hear is 525cc anyway. the Predator is, as far as i'm concerned an AWESOME woods racing machine. and seriously, i'm sick of hearing the whining about it not being a 450. so it can't compete in motocross. BIG DEAL! there's other types of racing, and i think that's a bit more of what the Predator was designed for. Also, there is a 440 kit in case you desperately need to race professional motocross. and furthermore, let me ask just how many people with a 450 actually race it in MX. i imagine the answer is like 60% of them tops. i have a buddy who constantly brags about his YFZ450. and how it is the fastest race ready machine that's legal for the track. You know how many tracks it has seen? one. The one behind my other friend with the TLD's house. Know how many rules and regulations there are there? NONE.

I guess my point is that the Pred is a wild-fast, great handling OPEN-CLASS MX quad or a production class GNCC ride. and lets not forget the reason that most people buy them, the trails. Thus i think it would be GREAT if KTM's 525 found its way into a Predator chassis, who cares if it's not MX legal out of the box.
