pred turns off
#1
Asked this question before and your replies have been greatly appreciated but still unable to find source of problem. Have taken pred to two shops with same results, nothing wrong or unable to find problem. This is whats wrong. After riding about an hour or two the pred will shut off!!! Not just motor but everything!! Have to wait 2-5min before fan and everything else comes back to life. This happened a couple of times before I did mod work but now it seems to be getting worse. Dune season is just around the corner and I don't need to stop halfway up a hill. Ingition? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sounds to me like your little fuse/circuit breaker is getting hot, due to some reason(probably a bad connection) and is breaking the circuit, and when it cools down it will come back alive.
Do you have an aftermarket cdi??

Had the same problem here, it's worse with the lights on. There's a circuit breaker under the left side panel attached to the upper frame rail (03) in a black plastic pouch that is the problem. Take it to your local auto parts store and get a new one and some dielectric grease for connections so they won't corrode.
Disconnect you negative battery cable before you do this to prevent a short if the hot wire accidently touches metal while your working on it. Fixed mine.....

Well the new lt-r450 is out, maybe the preddy is just shuttin down from embarassment!! No no. I'm just kidding. LOL Have you ever checked the voltage at the battery when this happens? If it does have a circuit breaker, you should be able to check that for continuity when this occurs. I'm sure your shop already checked if your battery has a short between plates.
In perfect working order, a circuit breaker should interupt for 2 reasons: over the rated current, or a short. I don't think an aftermarket cdi would cause this. You may have a fault after the cb and it's operating properly. Sounds like powerslider has some first hand exp. here.

The problem with the breakers is they are not sealed, nor is the pouch they're in so they develope internal corrosion which cause them to overheat and trip under a normal electrical load. It's a very common problem and not limited to just the Preds, Some Sportsmans develope the same problems.....

Just wanted to say thanks to powerslider and bradracer18 for their help in my problem that no one else seemed to figure out. Did just as you two suggested and as of yet have no problem. Hope that was the answer to my pred losing power. Can't wait for the dunes. Thanks again for your help.
