JUST BOUGHT A NEW POLARIS 500 SP IN MAY, MY WIFE WAS LEAVING TOWN AND HAD TOLD ME I COULD NOT HAVE ONE, WELL BEING THE FOOL I AM I WAITED TILL SHE LEFT AND WENT AND BOUGHT IT ANYWAY, BOY I WAS PROUD OF MY NEW BIKE EVEN THOUGH I KNEW WHEN SHE CAME BACK TO TOWN I WOULD BE IN THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE. WELL THE SECOND DAY I HAD IT I WENT TO WORK AND LEFT IT IN THE CARE OF MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WHO IS AN AVID OUTDOORSMAN AND BIKE AND 4WHEELER RIDER
WELL TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT HE FLIPPED IT PUT ABOUT A $1000.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE ON A BIKE WITH 18 MILES AND GOT ME A TON OF MEDICAL BILLS WITH IT
NO HE RODE IT WITHOUT HIS HELMET AND LIVED TO TELL ABOUT IT HE WEIGHS 90LBS AND THE BIKE IS A LIL OVER 700LBS HE FRACTURED HIS SKULL AND IT JUST GENERALLY ATE HIS LUNCH. SCARY AS HELL. BE SMART WEAR A HELMET CAUSE HINDSIGHT IS 20/20 BUT YOU COULD BE CRIPPLED FOR LIFE OR DEAD.
O YEA I'M STILL MARRIED.

COON;sorry to hear things like that but you were lucky that it was only hospital bills not the under taker.Once again it just backs the need for wearing a helmet, your son was very lucky,he could very well have been a vegetable today. Thanks for shareing the story if it only makes one person think about what can happen not wearing a helmet it'll be worth it.I can feel for you as far as the damage I had bought my 96 500sp and was so proud of it,let grandkids ride it and with 8 miles on it they did $1000 worth of damage.CM
