Default scrambler 400 pipe

I have had the FMF gnarly with the turbinecoreII silencer and I actually liked it. BUT it does not make the performance gains that the other pipes will. I now have the CPI pipe and love it wouldnt change it unless I went with RCR topend pipe. BTW I do not have porting done.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

You would have to rejet with any pipe. And with the Dynoport the clutching would be up to you and you could do that later and it would still run better.

with a scrambler 400 you willhave to get away from the "name brands" they either don;t make parts for them or half assed there R&D to make something that would give a gain but not much.

dynoport and CPI make pipes for banshees and are well known in that croud. AAEN and HPD are devoted to polaris only and have years of snow mobile tuning behind them. The scrambler 400 2x4 is essentially that a snowmobile with 4 wheels. The dyno port would be good, I would also do alittle more work to the air box. (cut out the wall modify the snorkel)

Do a search for dynoport with user name bubba297 theres good info. I like the AAEN and my cltuch setup is cheaply done if your looking to save some bread. 2 springs is all you need to make any of these pipes run well.

guys, the question was about minor change choice for a pipe,
i known what pipe are best for the 400 as for race mod kit on high
octane gas,and it is HPD atvrp8,CPI race mod pipe,FTR race pipe or the old lrd pipe for the 400 polaris was not that bad,,pick what you need
and the truth is out there...

Default scrambler 400 pipe

hey guys, I just bought my quad and it has the FMF gnarly pipe on it, haven't riden it yet, but

from what I have read it (fmf pipe) has big gains down low, but on top it is about close to stock

are these other pipes big on the bottom and top end?

I'm a big guy, 6' 1" and 240lbs, so a bit of bottom end grunt would be good for me, but if I'm missing out on top also....I'd get a new pipe

thanks

Ken

I would wait until you ride it. The FMF is a highly depatable topic few have had the pipe some like it some don't. the real problem is the full power of that pipe will never be realized as no one knows for sure how to set the clutch up to match its RPMS.

ok im a beginner with this stuff on the aaen performance website for a 400 scrambler it has: Boyesen Double Reeds
Mounts on your stock cage. Boosts power and throttle response thru the powerband.

that means that i dont have to buy any thing seperate with this just the double reeds and that would b all nothing to attach it to right

ive had hotseat, psi, fmf, 2 hpd pipes. go with the hpd full race pipe. no leg heat fits like a glove and runs awesome. i ran it on the trail mod and it was great. now have the pipe on a full race mod and it works great for that also
