Default Red hot exhaust

the fuel mixture has to be lean to do that, unless the engine is under full power then you check it.

Go out and ride it full throttle for as long as you can.....then shut it off right away, no idle. check your spark plugs........and look at the electrode's color.......get back to us......

Default Red hot exhaust

dancoe4x4, If you do a search, I posted the same question about my '05 700 efi, I never noticed it on my sp600, but after hard wot riding, the y pipe on my 700efi would glow orange right where the "y" comes together. A plug check showed good, both plugs were golden brown. Shortly after, I installed the sp800 header pipe, and have since decided that the exhaust is just so restrictive where the y comes togather for the 700 twins, it causes it to get so hot it glows. With the 800 header pipe (Duel Pipes) I have never noticed it glowing, and it sounds a lot better. The plugs still look nice and golden brown, even with the sp800 intake snorkle, and a k&n filter.
