I dont no what to say. I think that you really couldnt go wrong with either one. they both have there pros and cons. Witth that being said, i would pick the one that i truely like better and would rather have.

im so glad i went with the 400 instead of the 500!!the 400 2x4 is close to 100lbs lighter than the 2x4 500,not sure how much lighter than the 4x4..if i was looking for a 4x4 scrambler then id find a used 400 4x4.the 400 (especially modded) will leave a much bigger smile on your face..

I have both and to be honest if i had to choose between them i would go with the 500. I do all types of riding from trails, sand, mud and it just keeps going and going. Yes my 400 has a little more pep because of a few mods but the low end is nothin like the 500. My mother who is older likes that quad because it takes her everywear with ease. Up steep hills over obstacles while still being able to keep low rpms. it still goes pretty good also. The other thing is that when we go to them mountains the altitude change doesn't effect my 500 like it does my 400. Just my two sense but i do have experience with both machines.
