I am planning on buying a winch soon. I would like to hear the good and bad from some of you who are running Warn 2500 and 3000# winches. What is the highest amp battery that we can put in the stock battery box? Besides synthetic line, are there any real differences between the new 3.0xt and a 3.0ce (or whichever one has the mechanical brake)? Are the prewired winches Polaris specific? Who has the best prices? Thanks, Rick.

 

I have the Warn 3.0 winch, not sure if its the ce or xt, don't think it has a mechanical brake, don't see the need for it.

I bought mine on ebay. I think some of the best prices are to be had there. The winch works great, I had to pull myself out of some deep snow this past winter, glad for the winch or I would have been digging for a long time. I'm still running a steel factory cable, I do have a plow, but doesn't snow in the city much here in Albuquerque, only had to use it once last year.

I have a sp 700. With a warn 2500 winch. I bought the winch kit and everything i needed to install off ebay for $350. If you goto a dealer they will charge you about $500 or more. The 2500 works great for me. Ebay is the way to buy your winch.

 

either winch will work just fine for your sp 800 however I would suggest the 3.0 because it has a lifetime warranty vs just the one year. I would agree that ebay is the best prices you will find on a winch.
