Default Question for Rick Ritter

2 machines doing the same thing is a head scratcher for sure. It would almost certainly have to be rings not seating in properly, or possibly a valve guide or seal problem.

If the plugs are not a major pain to reach, pull them both out and take a look. EFI plugs should look pretty darn clean. You should be able to tell if the motor is burning the oil, and you might actually find out if only one side has an issue by doing that. Hope it all works out for you,Bubba

Default Question for Rick Ritter

Pull the right side cover and look for oil around the vent hose where it attaches to the valve cover, the genious's cut a slit in this hose so oil can blow out all over. I think the reason for the cut breather hose is there were some issues in cold weather with condensation freezing in the vent and closing it off creating excessive crankcase pressure and/or water in the oil. I'm not riding mine in the winter so I sealed the hose up and opened up the very small hole through the airbox vent hose fitting so it can breathe better. I have over 900 miles on mine,. no oil consumption problem- never had to add any between changes...
