Default in the shop again

my sportsmen 700 efi has been in the shop 8 times now and ive only had the machine
for a year is always in for the idle it usually idles at 800 to 1000 and they said that was
normal so when i was in fillmore ut for the atv jamboree this past year the machine
would not even start so i took it to the local polaris dealer their and they said that
they had never seen an efi do that before so they did some tweekin and got it to run
like it was then when i got back to salt lake the idle was at 2000 i could not beleve that
so now its in the shop for that the tryed to show me what to do if it happend again with the
throttle cable thing on the cable and the guy said that some thing was wrong with that
he did adjusting on that and said that the machine should die when he got to a certain point
and mine never did. has this ever happend to any one else?

Im not doggin on polaris i will never ride any thing else other then a polaris i grew up around
polaris machine i will never own a different machine POLARIS IS THE TRUE WAY OUT

i've got an '05 700 EFI and never had a problem like that....I did have one problem that the dealer told me was the computer, but turned out I fixed it myself and got my money back from them, it was the bolt that goes through the coil, which is a working ground going to the chassis, caused the plug wire to arc to ground, actually right out of the wires boot at the coil....

its possible that you have binding, but tell them to swap the computer just in case it is messed up, I believe they can also flash the computer with the last curves....

I would check for broken wires at the T-BAP or TEMP sensor connectors. If this is the problem, chances are you won't visually see a problem because most of the time the conductor breaks inside without affecting the wire insulation, so you'll have to get a wiring schematic and ohm out each circuit. I've seen lots of broken wires at these two sensors because of the high engine vibration. Anytime I hear of idle problems or poor run quality on the EFIs, this is where I start.

Good luck.
