Default 05 Predator 500 Troy Lee Mods

Just bought a HMF pipe and header for my Pred. Any thoughts on jetting?...I do not want to remove my airbox lid but I will be running a K&N Drop in....right now i have the main jet one size above stock...and the pilot one size above stock....with the stock muffler but just a screen and tip for the silencer.....runs great this way.......the pilot jet really helps with the low end where the pred lacks......anyway when i put the hmf muffler and header.....not sure what to jet it at...main or pilot.....what about needle settings?....any input would be helpful
also......where can i get sprockets for the 05 tld....?

im not sure if you've ever really taken a look at your airbox, but you cant remove the lid, the lid is connected to the snorkle that runs to the carburator. the only way you upgrade it is to run a drop in K&N, or to put a K&N airbox delete kit on

When you say the main is one size above stock, what does that mean? You can get jet's in different increments, so the next size up on that is a 152.5, based on a 150 being stock. With that you didn't change much.

Also, IMO, if you are only doing a drop in K&N filter, you are not doing your new exhaust justice. You will still be restricting the airflow and not getting full gains on that pipe. You will either need to do the delete kit like Spyder said (which I have not seen, I need to look that one up), or put holes in your existing airbox, or dump the airbox all together and go with a clamp on and outerwares (my personal favorite). From there, and strictly a guess on my part, you will probably be looking at a main in the 170-180 range and changing the mixtures a bit.

If you are staying with the drop in and adding the header and pipe, you might not need to jet, but to be on the safe side maybe bump it to a 160. Again, these jet numbers are guesses and you will have to test out what will work based on your altitude, temps and mods.

Here is a link to a good thread on jetting the Predator and other carb mods that will help.

Welcome to the forums...good to have another Pred guy around....
