Default Drive shaft pulling out???

I do not ride my 05 sportsman 700 very hard and I just hit 14 hours. I started to notice a bit of noise in my right rear wheel. I stopped inspected it and it looked fine. I continued on and finished my patrol of the pasture (20 acre lot). I stopped again to look at a place in the fence and then continued on. This time the bike acted very odd. The right back tire would not move. I got off and looked. At the top of the right rear drive shaft where it goes into the drive housing looked to be out about an inch. I could not push it back in. I limped it back (maybe 1/4 mile) and parked it. When I went to push it in my garage, the shaft popped completely out???? I am taking it in to the dealership tomarrow. Is this a common problem or did I just get a bad shaft??? I took the bike over a small bump around my pond damn earlier that day and maybe caught a foot of air, could that be the problem??? Not a wicked fast jump, just playing around. Thanks guys
