the large screw that you can adjust by hand is not the fuel/air screw but the idle adjustment, it doesn't change the fuel/air ratio.

 

Thanks all for the help. I am not going to go after the fuel mixcture screw. I have done a few test drives and can't seem to find any problems. Put it all back together. I may tackle the clutch next summer.
