I read the fine print of the extended warranty though, do not get your hopes up, it leaves a lot to be judged by Polaris. so we will see.

My paper work should be here soon, so I will scan and post it when it shows up. Basically, worded as any 3rd party warranty, it listed in detail everything NOT covered, left little to the imagination about what would be covered. I will post it as soon as I get it.

I called an Arctic Cat and Bombardier dealer and they both said their extended warranties are through G.E. I don't know of any ATV brand with a factory warranty past 6mo. Let me know if their is one. When I had my 2004.5 500HO my spedo went south while under the extended warranty and it cost me the either $40 or $50 deductable. I think it was worth it. One thing, there was a clip on my plastic that was broken when I bought my quad. The dealer said when I bring it in for the service he'll replace it under warranty. Well he forgot to order it when I brought it in for the service and said to bring it in on the next one and he will replace it. Well when I brought it in, it was on the extended warranty and it was not covered. I was not going to pay $150. for a side panel. Same crook that ruined my front diff.

This is different than what the are currently offering...correct? I wonder if this extension could be negotiated onto the current offering.

I didn't purchase from this dealer. It is in CA and I am in WA. It already paid for itself with a complete replacement of the front end gearcase. Parts and labor were right at $1K.

Not sure. I do know that this Polaristar contract is through GE. There certainly weren't any delays from GE about paying dealer for the repair. I do all my own general maintenance but just wanted piece of mind since it was first year EFI model on the big stuff.
I'm still holding out for that T-BAP connector repair kit when available. My dealer says he will just replace wiring harness under the mentioned warranty but I don't want my pretty winch wiring job all messed up. I have wire ties and loom everywhere and my contactor is located in area under headlight pod.
Fortunately issues with runability due to sensor issue are rare.... and since we are well into sledding season it can wait until spring for repair.

and by the way, the dealer cost of the Warranty is only $249 so they certainly are NOT doing you any favors at $510.
that's a pure INSULT.
hell of a way to treat a loyal customer!

Cut off dates are JUST what there called "CUT OFF DATES" there has to be one - everything comes to an end and it has to be stipulated by date.
Dealer gives you the promo what's stopping the dude that bought his machine two days before you from asking the same thing ???? Ten days before, fifteen days before, hell - thirty days before - It opens a door that can't be open, get the drift dopey???
