Default Stop Delivery Of ALL Sportsman500EFI

to all of you who think it's just the 'dummie light' coming on you are wrong. mine spat it's green coolant out into the white snow. it got logie and stalled twice as well. reved the throttle a little in neutral and it got stuck on high idle! WTF? shut the ATV off then restarted and the high idle was gone.

Polaris has really done it on this one!

i've been riding Sportsmans since '98 or '99. anyone from this Forum that knows me, knows that i am a strong Sportsman supporter.......but 10 MIN into plowing (that's right 10 min) and it pukes it guts? BRAND NEW! ZERO MILES!

i called the Dealer today and expressed my concerns. he said the kits are on order and will be in Wednesday. i will bring mine in Wed for sure.

you know, it's very difficult for a Mfg to overcome a BAD IMMAGE. (poor reliability, poor customer service, ect). in fact it might take 10 YEARS or MORE to overcome it! Polaris's immage has improved, and so have their products since the 80ies. i'm SHOCKED that they released the 500EFI.

enough for now.

Yeah, you’ve been a Sportsman owner and a Polaris supporter for a long time and you have a right to be pissed. Just not sure who should bear the burden of your anger, dealer, manufacturer or both. Until you know why it overheated I guess we won’t know but it sounds like you truly overheated, not this “false warning” problem that others have experienced.

I’d be real interested in knowing how this turns out, and I'm glad I wasn't on the recieving end when you "expressed your conserns!" hehehe

That's the truth! I work in the service industry and buddy, it makes all the difference in the world when - even if you're 9th degree pissed off - you stay calm and hold the cussin! I hope you get the quad fixed and everything worked out. Oh yeah, I don't own a Polaris but I'd consider one because of the mostly positive comments I have read on this forum. Or maybe Artic Cat..........

The first year of anything has problems, especially once you add computers and all kinds of sensitive electronic crap that to me have no business on an ATV.

your right mt, no matter how mad you get if you keep your cool you'll get a lot more accomplished!! it takes a lot of calm to be able to do that. it took me getting involved with the lord to be able to do it. good luck and i hope they get you going soon.

A few facts I've heard about the Hot Lamp issue on the 500efi's:

Oh yeah, one other thing: I've ridden a few of them and the Sportsman 500efi is a sweet vehicle. There will be some growing pains, but as soon as they're worked out, it's going to be awesome.
