Default Stop Delivery Of ALL Sportsman500EFI

mine overheats in the first 10 min of plowing today. what a dissapointment! (and that's putting it mildly)

i can't believe Polaris has the NERVE to put a DEFECTIVE quad on the market RIGHT OUT OF THE CRATE!

at least the SP700's defective water pump problems took some time to surface.

i even asked my Dealer to check for this problem BEFORE i took delivery. he said some have the prob and some don't. BULL!

why? because i called a friend who just bought one to see if his was overheating........you know what he said? Dealer wouldn't give him the ATV untill next week because of THIS problem!(parts are on order).....then WHY the heck did they give me MINE?!

i hate to say it but that 2006 Honda 700EFI Rincon is looking pretty good these days!

LATER,

All the company's do it, it just got rushed to the market to pick up a few sales. There warranty fund will feel the burn because of it. I hope you get the bugs worked out of yours mtpockets. I started to buy one myself but didn't because of all the posts about the overheating. I may take a 2007 or 2008 model, but until they fix it they can kiss my butt lol. Good luck and sorry to hear about the problems!

The idiot light malfunctions, I don't think the engine is actually overheating. If it's not pushing coolant out the overflow bottle then ride it. I would think the dealers would know about the fix by now, I read the part # somewhere but can't remember where right now.... http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...did/473621.cfm

i was thinking it might have something to do with that also... mt how could your quad actually overheat within 10 minutes of plowing??? think about it its cold and your goin at slower rpms

i can ride my polaris almost 20 minutes HARD on it without the fan coming on

Is this a problem only with the EFI's? My buddy has a '05 500 carb. and his HOT warning was on, our last time out. I just though it was because he was lazy and didn't wash out the radiator from the time before. I didn't troubleshoot it, I was too busy playing.LOL!!!!

I think we have to assume that several of these first 500EFIs left the factory with a faulty sensor and now that it’s a known problem it is being corrected in production. OR…… there’s a QC problem with whoever manufactures the sensor, a few are bad, most are not, and Polaris is running out their current supply, just warranting the few bad ones. A recall is not warranted because it’s a “false warning” and doesn’t present a safety or potential engine damage issue, unless you consider the possibility of the new owner having a heart attack from the anxiety caused by the flashing light a safety / damage consern.

If you specifically asked your dealer to check for this problem then that’s were the majority of the fault lies. Add that to your list of dealer prep grievances and fill out the forms. I think you need a new dealer, not a new quad.
