Scrambler 400 to 500 swap
Hey guys does anyone know if a 500 4 stroke will fit in the frame of a 400 2 stroke Scrambler without alot of hacking and choping.I know the part number for the frames are different but they do look the same.Has anyone done this swap before? Thanks for the help....Mike

I would highly advise repairing the original engine . I understand that you are wanting to save money but it rarely is the case after it is all said and done .
If you want a 500, buy one in good condition and part out the 400 . Another thing to remember , when resale time comes around for an engine swapped machine you will lose again , no one wants a "spare parts mongrel" .
Just my 3 cents for free ~

probably going to be alot of work but I wouldn't think impossible
take alot of notes and picture especially helpful if you have a digital camera
take alot of measurments of both your old machine and the donor
such as clutch offset clutch center to center tilt on the engine
anything else you can think of along the way
also post some pics of your progress and keep us up to date
if you don't want to attempt the swap sell the whle lot of parts to me I will try it
