mag 330 L & R... But no High range???
#1
Good day to all!
Well....... I need some help.
I just got a 2003 Magnum 330..... to keep my 500 sportsman company.
It was a little beat up when I got it. broken floor boards , plastic, and a few dents.
Motor and frame, tranny.... etc all looks fine, no cracks or holes where there should'nt be.
BUT It will not engage in high gear! Low and reverse work fine. It clicks in like it should be in high range, but it won't go anywhere?
I did pull the linkage off, the shift arm moves freely, and clicks positively into each gear.........
low does not seem to be slipping, but seems like its only good up to 20 mph.
This will be a problem. definatly not fast enough!!
I sure hope you might have a solution!!!
Or even a suggestion.
thank you all very much!
thanks for the forum I love it already!

Could it be the clutches, or a bad belt?
I tried it again in low range.... but could slip the belt until almost 1/3 or 1/2 throttle. one hand on the rack, one on the throttle. any more than half throttle, and it would have pulled me out to the curb.
Not sure where to start disassembly.
