Default clutch setup for 400 trail pipe

What is a good setup for trail riding with the trail pipe? I know there are clutch kits available, but I want to hear some other opinions about what "works for others. I would like to be running about 6500 rpm's.

you will find it boring at 6500 rpm for trail, the hot seat pipe and the
hpd trail pipe run good at 6700-6800 rpm,you can over rev the hpd pipe to
6900 rpm without any power lost according to the chart.

I ran the HPD trail pipe on mine with the stock s55 weights and HPD violet secondary set in the 2-2 and loved it. My wife didn't like that setup and with the help of bubba got a setup she likes. She runs the HPD plain with the s53 with the violet secondary set in the 2-2 position. It doesn't engage quite as harsh and still pulls great in the bottom and mid but suffers some on the top(but for the type of riding we do is perfect really). She loves this setup. I bet it would work great in tight and technical trails where higher engagement would be a bit scary.

duneaholic-
what primary spring were you using when you were running the stock s55 weights and violet secondary? It seems that the Violet spring is preferred for the secondary. Now I'm trying to figure out if I can get the machine to shift out to my preferred rpm's by just changin the primary and secondary springs.

WI,try this it should be running close to your liking,
s-55 stock weights with HPD gold primary spring,40 or 42/36 helix with
.030 shim with violet hpd secondary spring set at around 12-13 lbs.
that setup offer low engagement and good midrange with a redline
top end limit of 69-7000 rpm.
