Default Bad experience with our Phoenix !!!

So we got in a hurry and in feb this year , we bought an 05 Phoenix , for my GF to ride . Well it might have 15 Hours on it , and it has been in the repair shop more than it has been ridin .Everything from the ignition catching on fire , to the battery prematurly dying , to the trans not shifting .. This thing is not polaris quality , it is deff not USA made . And is the biggest POS we have ever owned !!! It is the only Polaris atv , and last polaris anything i will purchase . I think polaris needs to do something about this model before it ruins there decent rep they had !! Hopefully we can sell our Phoenix , and at least get out from under this thing , and buy a real quad like Suzuki , or Honda ! Please beware if you are planning on buying a Phoenix , and good luck if you already have one !!

Sorry to hear about all that stuff... I think i speak for the rest of us when i say that this is not typical of Polaris. Their warranty program is fantastic and hopefully all of these problems are covered. If there's any salvaging your relationship with the company, might i suggest the American built Trail Boss 330? they run great for years on end. i know, i have one. Just hoping to help you find a way to keep your money in america. Just hate all the whining about the bad economy when honda, hyandai, and kia are flourishing... the ATV market is no different. Hope you change your mind... or at least that the Pheonix gets fixed...

JR,

I too am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your Phoenix. I bought an 05 earlier this year for my wife to ride around while me and the kids were riding dirt bikes. Ours has been rock solid reliable, even when I've used it to do things it was never designed to do.

Just last week I had it in Southeast Arkansas on the Bear Creek Trail. Parts of this trail are very rocky, with long steep inclines. I rode it up the trail where some of my four wheelin buddies said " ... it will never make it" Now admittedly, when I got to the top I could smell the drive belt smokin, but the little Phoenix never quit. And BTW... I'm 6'4" 265 lbs.

After letting it cool down a bit, the burning rubber smell went away and the little Phoenix is still running strong!

I sometimes wonder if the dealer has more to do with the ownership experience than we give them credit for. I've purchased several items from my dealer over the years, and he has always made sure everything checks out clean before he's delivered any product to me. I'f it ain't right, he doesn't let it out the door.

Good Luck to you!

Im truly sorry as well. The Phoenix i’ve owned has been rock hard with everthing! But,I know what the problem is with your phoenix. When Polaris released the Phoenix early this year they wern't quite right. We got mine in August and by then they fixed the problem. So my advice is to ask your Polaris dealer to switch your phoenix with a proper one. It's really an amazing machine.Plus there should be a exhaust for the Phoenix at www.ritterracing.com(for Christmas theirs a special on the exhaust for $132) or try www.rcr.com.Good luck and I hope it works out great for you!

ROCK ON POLARIS! YEA!

SINCERELY,
