Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for a couple of years. I run jetting for altitude (8,000 ft), UNI filter, White Bros pipe, winch with synthetic rope, headlight mod, heated grips, gun rack, etc.

Hey Shopman,

I ordered the part number you specified. My closest dealer is pretty clueless but agreed to order the part. Does that part number include everything needed? The picture you included doesn't seem to include the actual plug. I hate to drive all the way there and not have a complete order.

Thanks again for the help this looks like exactly what I was looking for.

Yes part #2873069 has the stuff you need But I did have to get screws becuase the ones in the package that where selftapeing seemed to small they didn't hold so I went and got some bigger ones you will have to see on that one and see how it work on yours I just drilled a hole in the frost plug screwed in a slidehamer and pulled the frost plug theres a oring that go on the heater then you push it in the frost plug hole take the dimond shaped with the big hole in the middle and two screw holes on the ends up aginst the block screw the two screws in and fill with coolent check for leaks rout the cord and you are off hope that helps sorry about the spelling

P.S. the package it come in sould say ATV frost plug heater for the 700 ask the dealer before you go to get it .

GOOD LUCK

Thanks, the slide hammer is a good idea. That'll probably save me some time. The lady behind the parts counter did tell me, "oh yeah, it says right here on the computer-also for 600/700 Sportsman." It's 8 below as I type this so I'm excited about getting this done!

Long term follow-up. Great addition, no issues or problems. Elimitated warm up problems. Would highly recommend to others in cold climates.

New Mexico is not all cactus and roadrunners. I live at 8,000 ft, winter temps can drop to 20-25 F below zero. In fact it's May and snowing outside.
