800 EFI Belt of EBS Noise???
#1
My 2005 800 EFI Sportsman (30 hours) has started making a noise that appears to be coming from the belt or the EBS when you hit the throttle and when the engine is reving down. This happens both when in H, L or Park. It sounds like a belt squell, but I am not sure why it happens in Park? I also saw in another post that the 2005 800 EFI had some belt problems. What were the belt problems with the 800's and how would I know if that is what is happening to mine? I had mine into my dealer before my warranty ran out and they said the belt was fine. Any thoughts?
The dealer said that some ATV's make this noise and some do not and that it is it is due to the clutch engaging the running belt which is causing the squell. The ATV runs great and I have been plowing snow without any problems, its just that the noise sounds like crap. Thanks for your help.

Is there a way to shim this slack in the clutch to minimize this (*****-in-a-paint-can) noise?
Both my 2006 machines do this and have done this since mile 1. No big deal, I am used to Polaris noises, but was wondering about a fix you may be aware of or something? Thanks
