Default 500 Scrammy 4wd problem w/ hilliard clutch

Ok, I am having a problem where my left front wheel will not lock into 4wd

It was working fine, then I changed a cv boot and now It wont work. I understand the general principle of the clutches operation. And I have done the following.

1. Checked Voltage to wires to hub
12V at hub
2. While the switch is on the armature plate sticks fast to the magnet

3. The clutch mechanism appears to be working and moving freely

At this point I am wondering

1. Do I buy a new armature plate? Is there a thickness test
2. Weak magnet?
3. Worn Hub? Any way to test

Remember this was working fine prior to cv boot replacement.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

What did you torque the hub nut to?It needs to be 18-20 ft lbs and tighten it while spinning the wheel.

I took everything from the side that is not working swapped to other side.

The problem follows the strut. I think its the mag coil, there is magnetism, but the left side definetly has less pull.

How do you get that magnetic coil out of the hub? It looks like that seal section must come out first.
