Default predator questions

i had some questions about the predator 500 i want the tld edition i am getting rid of my rappy and was thinking the predator 500 or a yfz450 or the raptor 700 i figure the yfz is to ruff on trails wich i ride allot and the 700 is to trail oriented for me i like to race moto x and ride trails and dunes
i know it will have enough power for me it wont stay stock for more then a day just want to know if any one has any imput ont his likes dislikes i think it is a verry well rounded quad i personaly think allot better then the raptor (not trying to start a war just my opinion)

if any one owns a pred and yamaha let me know any info you have

how dose it handle

what dose it take to beat piped yfz's

how good is it on rough trails?

i ride tons of trails and mx it up and i love my preddy. The shocks adjust so much you can set up to do anything. I also own a yami and quality is good on both bikes. My preddy is just piped with a cdi and airbox and i sometimes get the yfz's on the wholeshot. Its all relative and mostly rider-hope this helps

the predators are really fast, but there not as fast as you think they are. though, with deep enough pockets, the predators can be made the fastest quads.

IN THE DUNES since the Raptor 700 can only take on a YFZ in a 300 yard or so drag, i would say your going to need a good deal of mods to be smashing a little more than piped 700's and YFZs

i would say

HMF Exhaust
Rath Racing header
Nicolas Cycle Twin Air filter set
Nicolas Cycle Carb Race mod
loose 2 or 3 teeth off the rear sprocket
and whatever else you want

in the woods, i really wouldent worry too much about it because you can only go so fast before you have to break, and the TLD box is perfect for the woods, especially with those Podium X shocks

I have a predator and it works fairly well in the trails its a bit bumpy. My bro has a kfx 400 and it works better than mine in the trail comfort wise.

hope this helps

Those are some great mods to get. I don't know if you would need the Dyna, unless you went with a big bore kit, I would say Doug's cheap cdi would work great for you. And you would have a few $$$$ more to spend on something else.

on the topic of those mods, I have a twin air clamp on filter and a dyno jet kit coming in. (Full pipe coming for my birthday) I ride at about 3000 feet, so what jetting would u guys suggest to strt with, or is the stock jetting fine.
