baxy,
shouldn't you be out riding your quad instead of giving me bad news? c'mon, it's beautiful here in Western Mass. I gotta get out there myself, plenty of horse and dog doo to pick up...

sorry to hear that, hope it's not headed this way. now that you've squashed my Ford dreams, how about a Polaris SRA with EFI and a dual range 5 speed? I think Polaris should give it a try. nobody else has one and we all know Polaris likes to be first.

peace

IN THE SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven't been following everthing in the thread. But do have to say when the old 78 SR5 pickup was sold, it was over 400,000. Last time I saw it was 2 years ago, when it pulled up outside a friends house (sold it to his brother). It couldn't pull anything like a Chevy, Ford or Dodge. It didn't have any upgrades (no a/c, no power anything). Biggest expense was a rear end at the junk yard, 100 dollars. Did replace the water pump, alternator, battery and tires. Lots of tires. I know it doesn't compare to the big 3 and the V8, but don't think you'd see that many miles out of any gas model today. Including Toyota.
