I have a new polaris double tube bumper. I need to mount my winch to it, what bracket do I need?

it doesn't mount to the bumper at all. It mounts to the frame. Buy the winch mounting kit specific to your bike and winch.

 

All I can tell you is some bumpers are designed to work with a winch mount and some will interfere with a winch. I had a front brush guard on my ’01 500 HO that doubled as a winch mount but usually the winch will mount to the frame independent of the bumper. If you have a Polaris tube bumper you’ll probably have a better chance of it working with a Polaris winch mount. Your dealer should be able to figure out what you need.

 

So I still need to buy the 65.00 winch mount bracket that is model specific, to this machine. I sure hope after the cost of the bumper and then the mount plate, that it will work together.
My buddy bought the gorilla brand winch of ebay last year as a rear winch for his 800 (wow what a winch for the money.)we have actualy used it more than his 2500# warn on the front. So I figured that I would put it on my wifes machineas a back up for my 2500# warn on my 700.

 

If your dealer has the winch mount in stock (if he doesn’t he should) and he can’t tell you if it will work with your bumper, ask it you can return it (in new condition with packaging intact) if it doesn’t work. You should be able to tell if it’s going to work without doing a full install.

 

the dealer says that you cant buy just a winch mount from polaris. it only comes with the Warn winch. i found one on ebay for 50.00. i guess i will give it a try.

 

Well that didnt work either. I called Polaris and asked them. There answer was a good one. You can only get the bracket that you need if you buy a Warn 2000# winch directly from your dealer. You cannot buy it alone, no way no how. The dealer want 473.00-10% for this winch. So I said what ever I can get this winch on ebay brand new (it even says Polaris on it) for 249.00 shipped and I will be all set. Wrong again, it only comes from the dealer. So I welded one up for 12.00. What a crock of shi?.

 

I may have exactley what you need. I bought a Polaris 50th anniversary 3.0 winch kit for my Sp 800efi. The kit was made by warn for the year 2004. I had to get a different mount for my 2006 800 therefore I am selling the mount that came with it. The mount is for an 2004 SP700. It will not work on the 2005 & 2006. I had the same problem. I bought my 03 sp500 with a double tube bumper, A2000 winch and I recently upgraded to a Warn 3.0 but it doesn't fit in the same mount. I contacted www.planet-powersport.com and they hooked me up. He couldn't find the right mount so he called Polaris directly and got the answer. He called me right back and ordered it for me. It should be here this week. It cost $70. Oh, and the winch does mount to the double tube bumper and not the frame. The bumper mounts to the frame and the winch to the bumper.
