I'd rather have some backing then none. Unless your a suckhole company man. I love to see the suckholes lose their jobs when their company makes cut back's. They think sucking up to the company will keep their job's. Company suckholes = RAT.

I'll put my work, my wages, and my benefits against anybody in my trade. Period. I can do that because they have been negotiated through arbitration. You can't send my work overseas, and my trade is a skilled trade, so Pedro or Kim Chee doesn't have a chance getting it. I can't stop people from buying stuff from China, Japan, Sri Lanka, whatever. My whole point is, was, still is, if you could get a similar made product from or mostly from the US, would you buy it? And mind you this is the Polaris site!! You know, Polaris USA (it says that in places on the quads) I was fishing for collective brotherhood in USA (or mostly) made ATVS. Never would I have imagined the response of lethargy and disregard for American pride. SAD SAD SAD..

PS Please don't shut me down mister moderater man kind sir. . . I promise I won't say nothing promoting collective bargaining, organized work force, or made in America again. Promise!

2stroked4x4,

First of all I have been a ONION opps I mean Union for 20 years now and I can tell you having a Union contract DOES NOT gaurentee you work or keep work for going elsewere or stop layoffs. Listen 2-stroked I have been a Blue collar worker most of my life. I have worked in union shops and open shops they stick it to US when the time is right. All this crap about being in the union will keep you working is just that CRAP. I have many friends who have paid union dues for years and guess where they are now. Collecting unemployment cause their union stuck it to them where the sun don't shine. So instead of being a company @$$ kissing man you sound like a union @$$ kissing man. You must be a Shop Steward, Union Rep or even worse a union business rep driving a friggin German car. I bet the only reason you would have a job after all your friends get laid off is because you jumped to the top of the seniority line when you became a union suck @$$ steward or something, but have a lot less time on the books then them. I know alot of people like you at work, who walk around and talk union all day , but don't do a bit of work. To busy pushing your philosophy on us like an unwanted Jehova witness. US real workers work hard for what we have. And YES BIG BROTHER COMPANY MAN DOES GO WITH THE "HIGHEST BIDDER WINS" philosophy. I can't even begin to give you all the facts, but you probably already know them all being an upstanding union man.

I made a promise and I will stick to it, no matter. Read the forum, the number one question, and try to answer it. As far as the trash you have to say, why don't you try applying as moderator???

Getting back to the original question; I always have and always will buy an American product whenever feasible. I don't believe "Made in the USA" = Junk, as some people do, nor do I believe "Made in Japan" = Superior. I do believe that keeping my neighbor employed is in our nation's best interest.

It's just too bad there is basically no such thing as a truly US built atv. Very few if any atvs go from drawing board to showroom floor entirely inside US borders. AC has used zuki engines as long as I can remember, Polaris outsources many of their engines and all of the phoenix. You keep supporting the US company, while it continues to outsource jobs to cheaper workers in other countries. At least yamaha, honda, and others have plants in the US that build atvs. It may be cheaper for them in the long run, but it's helping US workers more than US companies that outsource their parts.

Also it depends on the price of the bike. Ignoring for a moment that your scenario is all but impossible, a 600 dollar savings means a lot more on a 2 or 3k dollar quad than a 6 or 8k dollar one. Since the domestic atv producers, even when outsourcing thier parts, very rarely beats all comers in a particular segment I dont find that a terribly convincing argument either.

And you should also be more considerate of others, the term "jap" is typically considered derogatory and may not be appreciated by a japanese person.

I would buy what I wanted most overall considering features, performance, value, design etc. This is what almost everyone does. This is why the American car manufacturers are in such bad shape. If the full size truck and SUV market shrink too much the big three will continue to do business but probably under bankruptcy protection. If the unions "negotiate with" Polaris the way they did "with" the big three I would not be surprised to find Japanese bikes built here and Polaris built in Mexico or somewhere else outside the US. Much of it is not the fault of the UAW though - the big three continue to produce a few hits and numerous flops. The UAW pension & health care agreements are only making US cars more expensive but that can have a devastating effect for companies that are already loosing money.

BTW I bought a Polaris 800
