I have heard about every mechanical problem in the world on the telephone . Here are the highlights .

"My quad doesn't spark , I think the juice has evaporated from my coil , what do you think ? "

"My quad quit running , my dad says it is out of time , I think it has lots of time left , what do you think ?"

"The coolant in my quad boils over , the engine doesn't over heat , but the coolant does , how do I fix this ? "

I try to help as much as I can , but I ask you , the members of this forum , how do I help these folks ? ...

The only thing you can do is be the polite person that you truly are with your answers.I agree, these are some very differant and stupid questions, however Rick, you can only ask more questions to the customer to try and find out what the quads problem really is.There's a ton of folks that dont know how to really tell you what the quad is really doing and ask the goofy questions they do.

Be patient and try to ask questions back to get to the root of the problem, its tough, but SOMETIMES it works, its even tougher over the phone,
Good Luck,
Bill

Pop the top on a cold one, and share silly questions with the forum!

Sometimes it is all you can do not to burst out laughing. I think there is a connection there with not thinking before speaking. I drive a bus and hear things like,"Does the East Jackson bus go out to East Jackson?" Stupid questions are everywhere!

Rick, we would run into the same problem behind the parts counter...

"I need a piston for a '86 Yamaha dirt bike."

"O.K., what model do you have,YZ,XT,WR?"

"I dunno aren't they all the same? It's blue, does that help?"

I can't believe the number of customers who would come in looking for a part, and not know what model (and even year sometimes!) that they have.

Speaking of stupid questions, since I've lived in Alaska...

NO, I don't live in an igloo.
Yes, English is the language here.
No, it's neither frozen or dark ALL the time here.
No, I am not an eskimo.
And finally,
No, Alaska is NOT next to Hawaii, I don't care where it is on your map!

Now that winter is close, make sure you remove all the summer air and put winter air in your tires. If you leave the summer air in during the winter, your tires will not inflate properly.
