HEY FOLKS,
Thought id intro myself. My name is ALAN..alot of you with tractors, who visit TRACTOR BY NET know me as ESCAVADER.so i thought id keep the name.I actually got this sites web address off there this morning.I tried some other sites for atvs ,but this one looked more popular,so i decided to join.
My family owns 3 polaris atvs, one polaris sled, and one skidoo. The atvs are 2000 MAGNUM 325[WIFES],2002 MAGNUM325[MINE] 2005 500 HO LIMITED [wifes-0hours] no doubt we are a POLARIS family.
We are a hard core atv family. Our lives evolve around 4 wheeling in warmer months. We have a summer place in the western mts of Maine where we take off from.Designated atv trails are abundant, and we could travel for days without crossing our paths. We always ride with our girls 8 and 10 ,they love it as much as us.We try to ride the more challenging stuff, rather than dusty roads, although its fun too.I have actually climbed many mts on my MAGNUM,including The rocky MT ABRAHAM,in which is tough going .When we go we dont take sandwichs,im the pack mule...coleman stove, and all kinds of food, right down to the spices. We have made alot of fellow atvers drool on their passings.Nothing like a nice meal, and a cup of coffee from a mountain stream.A swim in the back country is always refreshing on a hot day.Its also a game we have to see how many Moose and DEER we can spot, its such a wonderful time.
SAFETY is our job 1 on our POLARIS 'mountain mules'.Yes we have them seats on,custom built footrests, and special made handles to help them hang on.I assure you my kids have been riding since diapers, they wear helmets, and they walk when it gets tough going. They also are learning to drive, and they do better than alot of adults i ride with. They are both getting safety training in the spring, but im afraid they just might teach the instuctr a thing or two.haha.My wife and i turn alot of heads, going places others wouldnt dare. She is born a mountain gal,and can ride as good as i,although im the foolish one who goes through the mud hole...she goes around...and pulls me out.
I am in one club, and am joining another new one closer to base camp.I have a nice little KUBOTA tractor-backhoe,in which is going to be a big help where the bigger machines cant fit well....my other hobby
Not much happening now.just picked up her new HO,and did all the maintanance on my magnum.Boy thats a task, every year...i change all the oils, clean clutchs...go over it with a fine tooth comb...even put brake pads on this year.I do all my own work, and have learned alot over the years.Right now im getting my SKIDOO ready to go for next weekend...tis the season.
looking forward to getting to know all you polaris folks, and others.
