The gas mileage is a little better on my sp700efi also, but my sp600 cost me about $600.00 less also! Only thing I disliked was how it ran before I installed the carb update kit. After that it ran perfectly!
I should have kept my 03 600 too. I sold it for a new 700 efi and should have saved my money. Had it for 3 years loved every minute if it. It climbed muddy hills that my new 700 won't do (Goodyear rawhides where awsome)

[qThe one @ sportsman's warehouse, weighs under 200 lbs, with a 1000 lb capacity ($750 in the store)

I like the sounds of this one, you might regret the heavy one. my smaller one weighs around 300+ with over 50 pounds of tongue weight for balance when loaded and it is a pain in the a$$. it is great for stone, sand, and gravel because the tires have a larger diameter and width which allows for good floatation, but hitching and unhitching are a feat.

peace

The twin motors are all great. (600, 700, 800). what alot of people don't know is that the 600 will out pull the 700 on a wieght tranfer sled. shorter stroke lets it rev up quicker which gives a faster wheel speed.

thanks for the welcome. Polaris is my job. And i love to talk about them, good times or problems. I do alot with Polaris when they do testing and evaluation.(as contract help when needed). Those guys really have alot of heart, real blue collar guys. If the white collars would just listen instead of thinking they know it all then polaris would be unstoppable. Lots of friends there that know alot. So if i can help, let me know

I have had good luck with bioth my polaris' and i love my 02 sp700!

One thing to check is the carb boot /adaptor for cracks and the hall speedo sensor may go bad ($42). also some early models had water pump leaks that was fixed under warrty w/ a steel cover.

I'm glad all you guys have had good luck with your 600's, because mine has been a piece of junk. It broke down twice while riding in Utah, first time was a bolt holding in the steel bushing on the rear hub to A-arm sheared off. The second time was when the stator went bad. Luckily that only cost me the last day of riding. Then, just the other week, while riding in WV, my crankshaft bearings went out. Luckily on the way back to the trailhead on the last day. That's 2 major expences of about $1000 each. Luckily, I had purchased an extended warranty.
So, as soon as I can get it fixed, I'm getting rid of it and going to another brand.

The 600 twin is a great engine. The only problem I have ever had is a sticky lifter on occassion. Usually when its cold and after its well warmed up, not sure why. Charlie

what kind of motor oil are you using Charlie? I have been very satisfied with Amsoil Formula 4-StrokeŽ Power Sports 0W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil. check it out.
