My gawd as mentioned before in a post, alot of you seem hypmotized by dwelling on how fast a certain machine will go compared to aunthor, or if it will beat your buddies ride. Is it always about getting from point A to B as fast as possible? Seems to me the real fun is enjoying what is in-between and I dont care what you are on there are certain places and situations where all the power in the world won't help ya or applying to much will hurt!!! I may be last but atleast I get there in one piece and always have a smile from having just as much fun!

Come on older wiser and mellowed gents, sound off and back me up here...?

OK...end of rant

well, i'm not so concerned as how my quad rates compared to another; however, i do enjoy top speed. i ride mine as fast as it will go for miles on end. keep in mind i ride alot on streets and gravel roads vs trails. my sp500 will do 62-63 mph but i'd like to go FASTER!

I know what you are saying IAJack. Although my Xplorer will run with the faster machines, my ride rarely goes over 30mph. I see no need to go FAST . . . I prefer the umph at the lower end of the speedo. The only time a wheel lifts off the ground is when I'm trying to crawl out of a mud hole.

I guess its to each his own . . .

Once you think about it, Life is just a million pissing contests. The only thing that changes is the subject. Later!

to me comfort and ability to do all kinds of riding is what I look for, I guess i get mad when people out right lie about there atv's ability. Actually people that ride fast and tear around are the ones that are helping ruin our sport.
If my SP could only go 40 that would cover 90 percent of my riding. I bought my Machine without caring or knowing it's top speed. I wil ladmit i have been caught up in some posts about top speed , but it is usually only when i know for a fact what I am talking about and when people are making stupid claims that i know are not to be true.

If your talking about my RAPTOR vs. SCRAMBLER 400 topic I was'nt (no matter how many people thought otherwise) comparing speed of the two machines, I was comparing what comes out of the engine.
Now if the polaris came out with a lighter chassy, well wi'll just leave it at that.

I agree, even though my quad is faster than yours.

Racing dates back to beginning of time. It's a guy thing.

It seems that there are too types of people on the forums. Those that thrive on competition and adrenalin and those that just ride to get out of the house. I race in any race I can enter on my SP500. I do not really care about top end because I rarely go over 50 MPH. However, I under stand why people discuss and even argue about perfomance. It is a guy thing, and if you are not interested in these discussions, you do not have to get involved in them. If I were in a wheel chair, I would have to find someone else willing to line em up... just my competitive nature.

I do not know if you guys remember my post about 6 months ago when the Rubi first came out. I challenged any Rubicon owner to a competition which was to included several different events including a Mud Race. I received many hateful replies and even more entertaining than that were the explicit e-mails I received. It was just to be a friendly competition, and people were getting violent. All because I wanted to have a little competition and post results back here. I guess I thought it would be fun and the most of the Honda owners saw it as an unnecessary pissing contest.

If I had no toys (ATVS, Footballs, baseballs, guns, etc) and there were nothing but a bunch of guys standing around, I would still have to result to some form of competition like arm wrestling (Which, of course I would win), like I said, it is just my nature.

there is nothing wrong with bragging it is the all out lying about what a particular atv will do that bugs people. I remember your VS. Ruby post I got a kick out of it, knowing darn well it would cause people to blow there gaskets. Taunting the Honda guys can be allot of fun. They deserve it most of the time for having there elitist attitudes.
