yeah...you're dealer's right, except he forgot the battery...that's not filled or installed either.

I asked my dealer, last friday, if I could test drive the new 500 EFI. He, much to my surprise, said Yes!!! So, I drove it, loved it, and bought it for my father in law! I'd have never thought of that machine as having as much power as it does, but it freakin' flies!!! After my father in law put 50 miles on it, we drag raced from a dead stop. He stayed w/me and my 700 efi to near 50 mph, then I started pulling away so I backed off...he kept climbing slowly to 55, but had to back off due to the turn coming up. He really loves it! I've gotta say, I really love it too!

Well I'll be, I have the x2 and the mechanic who serviced it told me the the hill braking was installed on all four wheels. He said this was a new feature for Polaris and the X2 was the first of their machines to recieve the improved downhill braking. I have ridden down some 100 to 200 foot sand hills and the machine is happy to putt down very slowly. How do I know if the 4 wheel Ebi is on my X2. If not what should I feel? Thankyou for your time. jlewis

None of the X2's have the 4 wheel engine braking yet.

Again, it's possible the mechanic didn't know they had held that feature temporarily. I know my mechanic learned that it was going to be delayed at the recent Polaris service training, and I learned of it on the dealer website. So the word is out there... But not everyone at the dealership (especially larger dealers) have access to the dealer website or attend service schools. If I remember right, Polaris even faxed all the dealers notifying them. But at a large dealer, no everyone see's the faxes.

As far as how to test it... I don't have an answer for you right now, but it's very unlikely you have it.

it's real simple to test, anyone that has a polaris should know,go down a slippery incline whether it be snow or mud, if the rear wheels lock up only and you slide sideways you have 2-wheel ebs old style.... if it dont do this you have the new 4-wheel ebs...................

Darn, none of the dealers around here can tell me when the X2 will be in.

I went to buy one before Christmas and they were all dumbfounded.

Are there any incentives going on right now?

"Polaris will offer the fix (add on the new EBS) at no charge to those machines currently purchased that do not have the new EBS system."

How is this possible? If they can add 4wheel EBS to the X2 can they add 4wheel EBS to a 2006 500EFI or others? If so, Polaris is going to make a mint with all the ones without. That is the only gripe I have with Polaris is the 2wheel braking.

Or... you could just look at the connector going to the front drive. It will have 4 cavities, and only 2 of them are populated. When Polaris releases the 4 wheel EBS, all 4 will be populated.

I called three dealers in Michigan and one in Ohio looking for an X2 today. All of them read me a statement from Polaris that said expected shipping dates are not until Jan 30 or the first week of Feb.

You guys in Minnesota must have gotten an out the back door model.
