scrambler rear fox shock
#1
Hi guys I need help I have a 2001 polaris 500 4x4 scrambler wich has the long travel shock and my shock has about 2-3 inches of sag and if you push down on the rear of my quad it goes down 5-6 inches. When my quad is being hauled on a trailor the rear of my quad bounces around like a bobble head doll. So the thing I was wondering is there a company that makes a stiffer spring for my shock. I need to really firm this up I'm going to have it revalved but I beleave it is set up for a rider of a 190 lbs and I'm a much larger rider 285/290 lbs so just doing a revalve job isn't going to be enough or so I was told. I'm thankfull for all replies and thanks once again.

if your quad bounces while being hauled, it sounds like the shock is just plain shot altogether. you must be riding on just the spring. have that thing rebuilt pronto~! if you bottom out too many times, you can ruin the shock.

Definitely sounds more like a shock issue than the spring. Pull out the shock and see if there's any dampening left at all. It's got to come out anyway if you're thinking about changing springs.

One thing to check for too, is a broken spring. I had the upper spring on mine broken for a while a did not catch it until my quad was sitting next to my buddies Trailblazer. Mine looked like I was sitting on it compared to his.
