What is the best way and the cheapest way to get a little more performance out of a 05 trailboss. The clutch seems to grab weak can I just change a spring to help and if so what color, or do I need a clutch kit? please help

I tested a Polaris white and the EPI pink.If you are just wanting more mid to topend power and stock engagment the Pink is the way to got.But if you want more snap and just a little more topend the white is the way to go.I wanted the engament to be low and wanted more topend so I went with the pink.

My Boss only goes about 45MPH (35MPH if going up any sort of incline). I have the stock springs in it. Which spring will give you the highest top speed, white or pink? I do a combination of lowspeed technical trail riding as well as high speed open road riding, and with the guys I ride with I need as much speed as I can get!

Go with the EPI pink and you will get around 50mph out of it.I run that along with a stiffer secondary spring and I get close to 55 out of mine.

Okay, I'm sold. I will change to the pink spring. How do I change out to a stiffer secondary spring? What color is this spring? And is it just as easy to change, or harder?
I really like the idea of getting 55MPH from my TB. How is your clutch engagement now with both of those springs changed?

Just do the primary spring first . Then find you an Aaen blue secondary and put it in but you really need a tach to see how tight to set it.You may be happy with just the EPI pink spring.

I agree, modify the clutch. Another cheap mod is to go to a 42 tooth rear sprocket. Won't help you with top end speed but it will give you more low end torque.
Also a rear spring stiffener will make your power to the ground ratio higher. Turn the shock to the stiffest setting and add a 1.5" stiffener. The quad will squat less when you get on it and more of your power will be transferred to the ground insted af being absorbed by the suspension.
Look at my pic's there is a shot of one in there somewhere.
