Not trying to talk you out of the CDI, but have you considered trying a sprocket change before droping the bucks on a CDI? I think that would be $20 worth investing there just to see if it got you where you wanted to be. Maybe a bit more than that if you do front and back, but not anywhere near the $300 or so for a CDI.

Just a thought...

I was wondering about a CDI box too. Thought about a sprocket change, but i really would rather get the CDI and not notice the gap in between the 4th and 5th gear so much. Plus i dont like how you have to shift so quickly out of the low gears.

What tooth count do you recomend? I'm running stock gearing right now.

Hey cr125predator how does the radiator grill and scoops work? do they seem too help keep the fan from running so much?

Well they do work, but it doesnt really help with the fan. the fans thermostat is set at a really low temp, so dont really worry about that, whether you have the scoops or not. I personally like and think it looks really nice. Its a bit pricey but i think its well worth the money. Here is the link to the grill & scoops Also check out the OMF scoops they're pretty nice.

Ya know what, I'm not sure but I think you would want to raise the front up one tooth (15) and drop the back a couple (37 maybe). There was someone around that had a gearing chart for the predator, but I don't remember who it was...might try a google and see if that turns anything up...
