The green and the white spring "chart out" basicly the same. Has anyone done a comparison test? My guess the average person coudn't tell much difference.

If we change the spring, would it also be best to change the clutch weights at the same time? What is the optimal spring clutch weight combination for the white and green springs for folks to ride at a variety of altitudes (1000-10000 ft)?

Basically, is there a good overall combination of power/performance?

Just changed the weights not the springs. Can't tell you if there is much difference. I don't do much tinkering with the clutch because it seemed to make more problems than it solved for the average trail rider.

Chopper Bill is correct,if you go to the Polaris service manual and read their spring charts, there is very LITTLE differance between the white and green spring. So little ,you should not even be able to tell any differance,

So would ya suggest me goin to the 44's on the weights? hey chopper ive got your # and i might get ya to send me some of those. It might just give me that "little" edge in power.man i love this new HO,i think there is a night and day diff from the 99 to this 01.i still think they should do somethin about this "clunky" shifter.but its better than the 99's.

I have the white spring in my HO, other mods are Magnum aluminum rims and Mudrunners, Progressive springs, jet-kit, and a K&N. The thing in low range does a cat walk like a two-stroke, no lag just instant belt hook-up. I heard, even though it's only a couple rpms, that the green spring is pretty radical and it wouldn't be a good choice for technical riding sitiuation. The white spring seems to be a good choice for those riders that aren't on and off the throttle all the time.
