HO mods (what first)-
#21
I tried a green spring then a white in my 2000 SP, the green was hot, hooked up at a higher rpm and with a bit of a bang. The white spring was very noticably smoother on take-off and at a lower rpm. It had 48 gram high Altitude clutch weights (for a regular SP).
I put a white spring in my new H.O. after 200 miles break-in. It has 46 gram weights (stock Scrambler clutch weights) high altitude are 44,
I don't think I need them, but might go well with a cam.
The original question was what to modify first on your H.O. I think a long duration cam from AAEN, meant for a Scrambler, is a very logical step. That and a K&N, a better muffler,
44 gram weights and a green spring...Watch OUT !!
It already has the beefy Scrambler crank and the big carb, next would be a little head work, maybe a weisco piston, then.....
Silly Later,,,Fourlix
