Hey guys,
This is the first time i've ever posted anything on the forums against my bike but...although it pains me to do so...i'm afraid i must tell you. Here's how it happened......

It was a rain like none i'd seen in a long time...but after it finally got done soaking the feilds, i went right out onto my quad. I roared into a huge mud pit... i made it accross and on the other side, i slammed my footbrake... after pulling a 180, i got back on the gas and hit the pit again. After doing this 3 more times, i went for the 4th and the brake was gone. Just plain not there. i didn't even slow down! and i stood on that pedal too! the rotor is worn pretty bad and all taht after only a few 180's! anyone care to speculate???

Ya gotta go with severe duty brake pads. Over and over again, I keep hearing that the standard pads don't last worth a darn. A few guys are experimenting with aftermarket pads but I haven't read how well they are holding up.

Do not use you foot brake only, this makes the one rear disk and pads do all the work instead of the hand brake which works all 3 disk brakes.I wore out the back brakes from standing on it without even knowing I was while riding.

For the rear of your boss you need to get ahold of Mr Gary Box.He sells rear BRASS pads for the Polaris quads and they ROCK.I installed mine today.Im expecting them to last 3-4 times longer than stock.I'll keep you guys posted,
Bill

Hey Bill -
When you get a chance, let us know Gary's e-mail again for those of us who neglected to write it down the first time. My dealer told me today that they wouldn't step up to the plate and replace my rear pads, even though I hadn't worn the nipples off my tires yet. I would like to put some good pads on the rear, and figure those brass ones will do the trick.
