It happened to mine, and most others. If you want a temporary fix, put a steel washer in front of the castle nut at the bottom of the steering post bushing. When I say temporary, I mean that your whole steering post bushing will need replaced any day now. I would nip the whole problem in the bud, and install the HPD lower steering post bushing. Takes about an hour, and is very easy.

The Quadfather said it all. To band-aid it, you can try to tighten the nut on the bottom of the shaft, adding a washer if you need to. If you don't ride aggressively, this quick fix can last a surprisingly long time. To fix it once and for all will require a new bottom bearing, the metal aftermarket kind. They are about $35 or so and are available from rittercycle.com or hpd.com. Personally, I would try tightening the nut first, and see what that does. My brother tightened his Xpress bushing once or twice in 5000 miles & is still going on the original. The day is coming where it will have to be replaced, but why do now what you can put off?
