Default Steering stem removal. Need Help ASAP!!

I am trying to remove a bent steering stem from my 05 700 and put in a new one. I am having trouble getting the large nut off of the very bottom. Any suggestions? Also, what all will i have to take off in order to slide the stem out and put the new one in. It doesnt look like it will fit through the hole without taking a bunch of stuff off first but i may be wrong. Please help!!

AuburnGrad,

You have to remove the front plastic and take out the gas tank(its easier that way), chances are too that the plate that the top of the steering bar is attach to is bent as well, it will require some straightening as well, hence the reason for taking out the gas tank, room for swinging hammer!! I take it you put it on its back?? Don't worry about trying to get the large nut off, just take out the two bolts holding the bottom bushing and it will come right out and the two holding the top bushing. Once the bar is out you should be able to heat it up a bit and straighten it yourself, I've had to do it on two different bikes.
