scrambler 500 no spark
#12
Yes you have to pull the flywheel to get to the stator..This is not a real big job..all you need is a small puller...the coil-pulser (pick-up for the coil) my be jerked out of position...this is what I normally find..Just make sure you put it back at the proper clearence around 45 thousands.I think that is what the setting is..Hope this helps..

thanks alot. do you need just a 3 prong puller. or what kind off puller. we put a regular 3 prong on it and it was really hard and we called it quits for the day. should you heat the center were it meets the crank

that is what we use..CAUTION..when you attach with the bolts into the flywheel...be sure you do not run them in to far or you will damage the stator..Iwould not recommend using heat..they are usally very tight but should pop off with enough pressure..

The puller will use three bolts that screw into the magneto. before you try all of this, have you unhooked the black wire on the cdi? That is the main kill wire. it works all of the kill switches and limiters. If that does not make it have spark, then it leaves you with stator, coil, or cdi problems. Just thought that would help, and it takes a few seconds to do it

is there any way you can tell if anything is burn up. it would save alot of time if we could tell if something is bad and replacing it instead of putting it back together and finding out it still doesnt have any spark.
