Not sure if it's the same but on mine (05 800 EFI), put atv in park, turn igniton on and off 3 times within 5 seconds.

Since you have a 700 carb, I'm assuming you're talking about the diagnostic mode on the speedo and not the engine blink codes.

Put the bike in neutral. Turn the key off for at least 10 seconds. Press and hold the reverse override button while you turn the key on. Let go of the reverse override button.

If you do it right, you should see the software version flashed for a couple seconds, then it'll go into the diagnostic screens. Toggle through the screens using the reverse override button.

screen 1: battery voltage

screen 2: tachometer

screen 3: AWD diagnostic

screen 4: gear circuit diagnostic

screen 5: programmable service interval

screen 6: miles or kilometers

here's the kicker: NO FREAKIN' CLOCK!

Default How to get into diagnostic mode???? Help!!!

Thanks,

what hapened is 2 things, it goes into 4wd with it in 2wd mode sometimes VERY harshly like when you are spinning tires on Ice.. the switch is working as far as i can tell because the 4wd on the display comes on when switched Also when you put it into 4wd and try to go in reverse and hold the overdrive buton 4wd doesn't engage.

also the binking wrench is coming on. does it mean anything specific or is it just like a general service light that comes on by hours???

any help is appeciated.

John

VFORCEJOHN............
The blinking wrench doesn't mean anything in particular...I't's just a service interval reminder.........When the machine is brand new the factory sets it to come on at 50hrs. Then after that you can program it to come on at you predetermined number of hrs. to remind you that it's time to service your machine........

have you changed the front gearcase fluid? might help, if not you may need work done on the hillard clutch. hopefully you have a decent service dept nearby. this is only if you have ruled out an electrical problem. what did the third screen say, is current flowing through the AWD coil?
