Default Ranger Heat

We just got the plastic cab for our ranger cause it's dang cold outside with the wind on your face. We were out riding today after installing it and it got really hot inside the cab, Now I've only got about 11 hours on it so it's still in the breakin period but is this excessive heat a normal thing. This is especially worrying because it was about 45 degrees out today, if it's this hot in the cold I don't even want to think about the heat it'll be pumping out in the middle of july. If anybody has experience with rangers and can give any advice i'd appreciate it.

** It's a 6x6 700 EFI BTW

I apologize but i'm shamelessly bumping my own thread in hopes of getting a response.

Ranger XPs run hot. If you ever need to warm your fingers just lift the panel in the center under the seat. Lots of heat coming from right there.

I have the auto glass windshield on mine, metal top and rear window but no doors. This cuts the wind and keeps me plenty warm dressed for the conditions. Without a full cab on mine it’s hard to compare the two but I can see how that motor would heat up your cab.

A friend of mine manages a nearby dealership, and he was telling me several weeks ago about someone who ordered the heater option for their xp along with the cab. He said when they got it installed, they couldn't ride more than a couple hundred yards without the heater running them out of it. Anyway, he actually said that he couldn't understand why that option would be necessary because they did put off so much heat.

Yeah we were going to get the heater option when we ordered the rest of the stuff, but decided we'd hold off and see how cold it actually got in there before spending the 500$ on it. I'm really glad now that I decided against it, and also glad to here that the heat coming off there is it fact common, thanks alot for the info guys.
