polaris false advertisement!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep its true!!! product reviews read= to lighten the 2000 scrambler we [polaris] have added light weight aluminum floor boards and painted aluminum rims. well guys , go and get a magnet and put it on the rims and floor boards!!!!! if i remember from my high school days, alum is a non-ferrous metal which means it will not magnatize!! dont know about other 00 scramblers but a magnet will hang very well on mine!!!which leads me to believe the polaris is trying to BS people!!!JMO!!!

it might have to do with the quality of aluminum. i dont think polaris could say something that wasent true. they would get in trouble with the govt for false advertising.
it might be a lower quality alunimum that has more iron in it, unlike billet alunimum.

Nope quality can't overcome physics, a magnet wont stick to aluminum. I'd say that your bike was assembled before the change over. I don't know if you'll get anywere, but i'd try and get them to replace the parts with what they said comes on it.

hehehe, either that or they have some documentation and communication problems within. I have seen differences in torque specs for the same bolt of 30 ft. lbs. from the saftey/ maintenace manual to the Polaris service manual. My scrambler was made in feb of 2000 and it has all steel stuff....to bad. GJ
